Computer Pimpin' Ain't Easy

Born Donald C. Sumbry ][ on June 21, 1977 and known simply as "Sumbry" to all that know him, it's Sumbry's job to help keep the servers at Revver running. How you ask? Well it requires experience, a lot of patience, and a high tolerance for pain. But where'd Sumbry learn all these traits?

Well, two years into a Computer Science Degree at the University of Southern California, Sumbry caught a case of dot-com fever and joined a startup company by the name of Affinity Hosting. Affinity quickly grew to over 100,000 customers and with that came much of the knowledge and skills that Sumbry uses to this day. For almost the next decade Sumbry continued to work and consult for a variety of web hosting companies, helping to design and grow their networks and spending many late nights coding up a storm and throwing things at dead computers.

Sumbry is a huge believer in balance, and to help preserve his sanity started Djing in Los Angeles at Hollywood Clubs and Parties. He plays a unique blend of dark progressive tech house (how's that for a genre) and has gained a dedicated local following through the years. He still plays out frequently even as Revver has started cutting into his deck time. But working next to the biggest record store in LA (Amoeba) has its advantages.

While Sumbry does invest much of his time with Revver, he is still an entrepreneur at heart, and prior to working at Revver started several of his own businesses including; ClubTickets.com, PfkSound.com, and WaxDj.com. WaxDj, his biggest success, boasts over five thousand djs and over one million streams! While Sumbry still actively works on all of these projects, he was looking to be a part of something greater than anything he could do on his own.
