Ascent of Mont Blanc in the Alps on September 13th, 2007 through the route of 4000s: Mont Blanc du Tacul, Mont Maudit and Mont Blanc. The journey starts in Chamonix, taking the cableway to l'Aiguille du Midi in the afternoon, and from there reaching the Refuge des Cosmiques to spend the night. We got up at 1am, started climbing around 2am and summited slightly after sunrise. After enjoying the views from the top for about one hour, we started our descent through the normal route of Gouter, and got just in time to take the last tramway from Nid d'Aigle (Eagle's Nest) back down to the Chamonix valley. The journey involves more than 1,000m of altitude gain on the way up and more than 2,400m on the way down, on a single day.
