For Olympic 2008, the Olympic torch is going to be carried from Greece to Beijing in a monster relay through Tibet, up and down Mt. Everest, through 21 cities outside China and 113 cities in all 31 provinces within China. The highlight of the torch relay, involving a total of 21,780 torchbearers, will be an attempt to take the Olympic flame to the summit of Mount Qomolangma, known as Mt Everest in the West, in May. Li said the list of some 19,400 torchbearers and the roadmap for the torch relay over the cities in China would be made public soon.
