CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS A magical ice palace was built for Bonhomme, the Carnival's guest of honour, for the first time in Jacques-Cartier Square in 1955. The impressive ice construction even had a dungeon, used to jokingly jail carnival-goers who refused to honour Bonhomme's effigy. From 1956 to 1972, Bonhomme's palace was located at Place D'Youville Crowds gathered to dance and celebrate, Féerie Depuis près d'un demi-siècle, le Carnaval de Québec enchante nos hivers. À chaque année les habitants de la ville retrouvent la féerie des festivités et les visiteurs la découvrent... Pour loger l'invité de marque qu'est Bonhomme, on lui construit un premier palais au Carré Jacques-Cartier en 1955. L'imposante construction de glace comptait un donjon, utilisé pour enfermer, le temps d'une plaisanterie, les carnavaleux qui n'arboraient pas l'effigie de Bonhomme.
