In 1975, the first US climb of K2 (or Karakoram) was made and the expedition was led by the great mountain climber, Jim Whittaker. Whittaker was also the first American climb Everest. In this film produced and directed by Laszlo Pal, the entire experience was captured in an hour long documentary. Available for the first time on DVD, this film is a masterpiece by a multiple Emmy award winning filmmaker - known for his films on Everest, the Iditarod and Sailing Alone Around the World.
