1. Built by British to commemorate Tan Kim Seng (TKS) 2. TKS came to Singapore as a trader in the early 19th century 3. A wealthy man, philanthropist 4. Contributed 13k to Chinese Free School, Water Works in Singapore (Including Mactitchie Reservoir) 5. This fountain was relocated in 1975 and major renovationwas done to it in 1994. 6. Wordings in video: This fountain is erected by the municipal commissioner in commemoration of Mr Tan Kim Seng for his donation towards the cost of Singapore Water Works.
