1. Built by British to commemorate Tan Kim Seng (TKS) 2. TKS came to Singapore as a trader in the early 19th century 3. A wealthy man, philanthropist 4. Contributed 13k to Chinese Free School, Water Works in Singapore (Including Mactitchie Reservoir) 5. This fountain was relocated in 1975 and major renovationwas done to it in 1994. 6.
