One of Student Films Across America's prizewinners (Best High School Film), directed by Bryan Felber, Colin Davis, and Austin Kearns. An offbeat boy becomes mesmerized by an entrancing, yet foreboding metronome and decides to walk to its beat. He gradually gains the local town's attention as everyone from an evangelical guitar player to Billy, the longhaired innocent son of a worried mother, joins this kid's simple pursuit of tempo. The metronome kid leads his crowd for days while walking on beat and gathers the attention of both the news media and the mayor. A tragic ending highlights the nonsensical nature of conformity.
