An 8 ft. image of the Forever stamp will be staged next to the Liberty Bell as the Postal Service announces the stamp’s first day of availability, Thursday, April 12. The Forever stamp is a consumer innovation guaranteed to deliver unprecedented convenience and value by easing the transition for mailing letters when rates change in the future. The Forever Stamp is good for mailing a typical one-ounce First-Class letter – forever – regardless of future rate increases. The stamp goes on sale April 12 at 41 cents. Customers may use the stamp to mail one-ounce letters at that time if they wish, but the 41-cent First-Class price will not go into effect until May 14.
