FROM THE BANDS WEBSITE: Through blending their vision and musical talent, Eagle & Hawk have created a progressive style of music that embraces their Aboriginal roots while building bridges of cultural understanding. Their leading role in defining the genre of contemporary Aboriginal music has earned them the respect of the Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal communities alike. Envisioning a new sound that would combine modern rock with Aboriginal elements, guitarist and band leader Vince Fontaine founded Eagle & Hawk in 1994. They soon journeyed from the Indian City of Winnipeg, Manitoba to the capitals of Europe where they blasted onto countless stages with a powerful and effervescent live show that impressed their international audiences. Yes! I VERY much love this band! This video is of their performance from the 2006 Native American Music Awards which was held at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel and casino in June of last year. I got a chance to meet the band and in particular, Vince Fontaine, clearly the innovator behind their great sound! They one in their category, which included three performances at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal reservation in Connecticut, USA. One performance was at the Pequots powwow called "Schemitzun, while the other two performances were at Foxwoods Resort casino....the largest casino property in the world. The performances at Foxwoods helped draw the band some interest. I am STILL getting emails and calls as to how people can buy their music and see the band perform. I hope to bring them back here to the states again for more performances.
