Opening all applications in the applications folder

I saw a video of some dude opening all the applications he has in the applications folder of his mac. So I decided to try it on my macbook pro with 1 gig ram. I was SO sure it would die. I have around 124 items in the applications folder...24 folders and 96 applications. Luckily all system heavy apps like photoshop,flash,coreldraw and illustrator were in folders so they didn't get executed. And even after all that, only 36 applications were executed. My camera memory ran out before long, otherwise you'd have gotten to see the terrific time I had closing down all the apps.
