With the help of BPSOS, over 200 Vietnamese fishermen and non-Vietnamese business owners in New Orleans, Plaquemines and St Bernard have applied for grants and loans from the state to rebuild their livelihood, which was devastated by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Vietnamese fishermen form a liaison committee to advocate for their rights and interests.
